Browser wars and the way things change

I would like to make a time-stamp in this article as it's way too premature to predict what Google's browser roadmap is.

I doubt very much Chrome is going to offer the same sort of web-ad crippling extension that Firefox does. At most I think it's going to create a warm debugger cum web developer friendly interface for blinkered intranet designer to work towards. If this is the case, its not really any better than IE, its just different which might be all that Google are working towards.

Two step kill process...

1) Chrome is offered right on the Google Home Page now... Mozilla could never dream of that kind of exposure. That is enough to shoot Chrome up into the double digits of browser domination.
2) Chrome is fast. That might be the hook that makes people leave IE for it. If Google can keep Chrome running so fast they might just become Search Engine AND Browser!

I think the fact that chrome is now open source will take it a long way in kicking IE’s @$$. Nice article thanks.
