Borris look at go to www.sentech.co.za look on the general bulletin board.

But here it is anyway.

Upgrade on the MyWireless Network: 18 August

As part of our commitment to ensure continued improvements on the MyWireless service, we will be implementing upgrades on the network.

These upgrades will commence from 13h00 Wednesday 18th August 2004 and are expected to be completed by 25th August 2004.

The implementation will happen automatically and minimal interruption is expected as a result of this. The initial upgrade will only affect the MyWireless 256 customers and revolves around achieving fair bandwidth allocation to all MyWireless 256 users.

Upgrades on the other products will be posted on this bulletin board prior to being implementation.

Sentech a perfect example of: “When great ideas go terrible wrong!”

Kamerad,
It's in Maintenace & fault notifications - 18 August.

I like this bit though: "Upgrades on the other products will be posted on this bulletin board prior to being implementation."

Ah so.

YAY! I love Sentech (for the next 5 minutes). I've been under the impression that i've been getting a bum deal on my 256k (Ok, lets face it, we've all been shafted here, but on the war drive the guys on 128k were getting the same/better speeds than me)

Ahhh, finally i can rule supreme over all you 128'ers *duck*
GougedEye - is ADSL not suitable for MMORPGs? People said the same about MyWireless, and I was playing without a problem 'till about two weeks ago... what kind of pings do you get on ADSL?

Er I'm afraid not. The reason I moved from ADSL to MyWireless was 90% because of MMORPGs. Same thing for KemoSabi. It's to do with the shaping on ADSL. They prioritise HTTP, FTP and some other stuff and retard everything else. RoDent can probably give you more detailed info. Basically DAoC was totally unplayable on ADSL. Well it was very playbale at first and then when they slapped on the shaping it went to hell. Pings don't help you because you need to see the response on specific ports. I haven't been on ADSL since January so it may be better now. And the 4gb option would be excellent for all types of gaming, just don't download anything.

Rodent, how long ago did you play FPS on ADSL, and do you have the unshaped package?

Like I said... I'll go and try it at my friend's house and see what it does...
