BSOD suddenly. Need advice

Hmm... OK.
Did you try installing manufacturer drivers rather than let Windows do them? Apologies if I missed that!
Yes, that was on the 1st format.

The reset i'm doing now has been running over an hour for both drives.

I've got a spare 250gb at home. If this happens again, I'll install that as my drive A and see what happens.

Here's my biggest headache, when i go into a game, i can game for hours without it bsod. Once i start working in a browser or just anything application-based or home screen, it bsod's

I've tested this.

Even in a game's loading screen, i'd have no issues. Once i alt-tab to the second screen that has youtube running or whatever on the other screen and work on it, bsod randomly pops in.

Had the same issues on AMD

Was heat issues.

But how though, in game the temps rise
In desktop view they come down?

Maybe the cooler isn't properly seated?

Read on tomshardware, a guy had similar issues. Eventually the cooler wasn't properly seated. Even though his temps were not bad or never over 70..

The cooler i have has these two points they pull down onto the am4 black plastic brackets.

Im curious to know what the SHA-1 of the iso you are using.

Oky, no bsod so far.
Firefox installed instead of the chromiums

CPUID Hwmonitor to check temps

Been running a youtube vid for a few hours and no weird ,"Aw snap" errors, but i think those are more chrome issues.

Netflix running as well.

Download Igorware Hasher, install, point to ISO, click calculate.

Post SHA-1 here.

Looks like you just copied that from the website, dont you have access to the ISO you used?

You use....winrar to open ISO's? Hope you didnt just open the archive drag the contents to a flash and then boot from it. That would explain everything and that would be embarrassing.

Imma head out.

ISO is clean BTW.
Nope :) That's the after ( format ) picture im showing. Busy setting everything up still.

Tested by installing every windows version i could in different ways to see if that could be the problem.

Good to know about the ISO, got it today.

The thermal limit on my chip was 62, don't know what it is on yours.

62? wow, sounds like those bulldozer cpu's

Based on the AMD website

5800x.PNG

But since the deep/slow format i did on all drives yesterday, my cpu now idles on lower temps, and playing a game at 1440p on ultra settings gave me a 57-celsius max, somehow coming down by 4-5 on idle and max.

Do note, the room temp was 27 last night o_O

Alright,

So no BSOD since yesterday 2pm to 10pm ( Went to bed ) But event viewer did note 1 critical issue, but that was while i was busy installing drivers and windows was doing it's own thing and restarting the pc.

Left home this morning and i've got a game running on it's menu page, 10 hour youtube video streaming and HWmonitor with event viewer on. Fingers crossed that it's gone now.

I'll update what i did later if all seems good again!
