Im looking at getting one of these for my little monster (almost 4), but I see a lot of negative reviews online. Does anyone have some experience with these?

Would an el-cheapo tablet with a propper cover be a decent alternative? Any suggestions? I have a very old kindle fire but that thing is not coping with even the basics and its battery is pretty much fried..

I've got one for my youngster. They have a bunch of educational games on them to teach reading and math and such. That all works fine. Putting anything mildly taxing on it its unworkable. Very slow. It's not very powerful hardware. Darn near bulletproof with those big rubber covers though.

If you're looking at it to run the handful of simple educational games for the kid that it comes with then it's fine. If you're looking at it as an actual tablet don't get it.

My (at the time) 5 year old complained it was too slow lol and it locked up too frequently.

Avoid.
Best to replace them then yeah.

How old are they now? I am sure you could get a good price for them on the 2nd hand market.

Awesome thanks for the replies everyone! Ill do some digging to see what I can find.

Rather buy an Amazon Kids Fire tablet.

Even better if you add the Kids+ subscription to it as they have endless curated content then. (They come with a 1-year sub included already)

They are virtually indestructible.
