Budget, mid-range, and flagship Android smartphones compared

The A54 beats it but not by that much if you look at the battery size difference
We discussed this?

No one cares about the size. They care about how long it lasts. Isn’t that pretty obvious though?

It’s like claiming the my neighbours Mercedes A45 AMG is one of the most powerful cars in the world and far more powerful than most Ferrari’s (if we take the litres / 2 and * by the Ferrari engine in question - and then compare the kw/litre) .

No one does that … except for some A45 owner with an inferiority complex trying to prove a stupid point. Pretty much the same as an iPhone owner with the same complex …

R8-13k isn't mid-range. There's plenty of phones between R4-8k.

4 to 8k isn't mid range, that's low to mid now, 8 to 12k is mid range now. Thanks to the rand being in the toilet

Just like you because two apps open 1 second slower it doesn’t?
It’s more than two apps, sadly.

But don’t you think that 1 second slower on a newer iPhone is 1 second too much? I mean this is the most powerful mobile chip that the world has ever seen, with 10 x the benchmarks and Android will ‘catch up within 5 years’?

Even in Dollar terms 8k isn't mid range. This is manufacturers trying to push prices up.

I know, I can understand in some sense as the tech has gotten a helluva lot more advanced (well that's the excuse anyway)

I very happy with my budget Samsung A13. Last year in Nov 23, I bought my wife an A14.

No issues with it. Does everything I want.

These were R3k phones if I recall correctly.

No use paying a premium for phones these days.

Lol no NFC
no esim
cameras that suck (if you travel overseas or have kids and want to snap a few great looking pics you're SOL)
no wireless charging
slow processor with no on device ML
virtual proximity sensor that sucks
Samsung bloatware (2 app stores, various M$ apps you have to disable, Bixby etc. etc.)
Terrible speakers
There's a reason people spend more on a premium device.

Nah, a R3k Xiaomi is much better. Go for R5k and you almost have a premium device.

Paid R6.5k for mine in 2022 and it was the highest I paid for a phone. I don't plan to pay as much in future, will probably go for a refurb for the next one.

How do you know a person is a Apple iPhone fan/user.....................................................................................................................................................................................................just like a vegan, cyclist or a Phillips AF person the'll tell you.
