Budget TV for PS5

Hi all.

I know this has been discussed numerous times within many threads, but please can I ask for your assistance:

I am looking to buy the best possible 4K TV for my PS5 that falls within my budget of around R10000.

I know it isn't much, but it is something... ;)

Those AIM tvs at Pick n Pay are suspiciously dirt cheap. Dunno if any are 4K though.

What sort of size did you have in mind?
 
is the screen a native UHD / 4k screen is the question?
Yes lots of tvs will accept a 4k input into it, but it might be a FHD tv that 'upscales'

We got caught out 12 years ago from Panasonic in the film insutry here.
You put a signal in from a 1080p camera and the OSD would briefly show 1080p in the top left corner

This was the mutts nuts all over the world, everyone was buying them, frigging R40k for a 17" monitor !!!!

Years go by and i am sick of exchanging damaged screens and been billed R28k for a LCD panel to replace. So oneday i open the monitor up myself and see its an LG and I get the datasheet off the internet for this model. It's a 720p display.

Holy **** !!!!! We have been ripped off all these years and led to believe we were looking at a native 1080p panel.
 
Get a Mecer Display Panel instead. Does everything a TV does except you don't need a TV licence to buy one.

If you're buying a TV for a next gen console, don't skimp on some of the most important features. You should look at something that supports HDMI 2.1 so you can play at 120Hz...
 
It's not the frame rate and such stuff. You absolutely need to get a 4K TV with HDR.
 
Then again with this pandemic and unemployment going around... pretty sure if you don't mind driving you would be able to pick up some bargains at second hand shops.
