Bugatti Chiron

yeah imagine putting four turbos on the mclaren F1

or putting a 8l four turbo engine in a koenig

apples with apples...

have you seen the twin turbo aventador?
And see how they behave at 400kh/h. Anyone can 'try' to make a car go fast in a straight line but getting it right is another. The Veyron could go faster but not safely (cos the tyres were not up to that stratospheric standard of engineering), hence the speed limits.

That cars achievements have only been surpassed now, by the same company, says a huge lot.

Appreciate the achievement.

I mentioned much earlier about the "Concorde moment" but didn't expand on the reasons. It does not take a rocket scientist to appreciate the brilliance of this new Bugatti

The problem with the concorde moment statement is that it was made about the veyron as well....

Regardless though this is some serious rockstar engineering and hates off to the bugatti guys.

I think when the Veyron was made, it was a once off idea to see how far they could push the envelope; to give the engineers an off day and say "go mad, see what you can do". They might not have foreseen the success and desirability that the Veyron would garner and as such, defined it as a 'Concorde' moment; never to be repeated.

The concorde statement was made by Jeremy Clarkson if I remember correctly not bugatti.

Granted, you're 100% correct, he did. I got a bit ahead of myself while typing :)

Concorde, in terms of supersonic travel, pushed boundaries and went further than most deemed possible (or necessary!) much like the Veyron did for the car. Who would've foreseen a road car with airconditioning, stereo, satnav etc... oh, that could also do 400+km/h.

Completely agree.. veyron was the concorde moment... the chiron is a refinement of that in my opinion... it moves the goalposts but it doesn't fundamentally alter things if you ask me. There are limitations that even the most rockstar engineering can't overcome at the moment.

It looks like IT wants to kill something...

Much prefer the black grey paint job, that tricolour blue is a little "cheap" looking.

Yummy
