Hi all,

Im moving over to Umbuntu and would like to know if there is a bulk sms program available. We are currently using the Vodacom bulk sms program but as far as i know it only runs on windows.

Regards

Moonie

Firstly it's Ubuntu, not Umbuntu
Secondly, how can you move to it if you cant even get the name right?
Thirdly, why should I help you to set up a spam box that might hit me? Shooting meself in the foot that would be.

Maybe if you gave a lil more info and if it's legit...

Someone please write a nasty virus that targets this Vodacom bulk sms program.
What's it called?

You can search the internet for commands to send to your modem device. Those old duxbury serial com-port gprs modems will do the job. In your web application, for example in php, just send an external command to the terminal.

This site will do the job:

geez guys, that's just plain nasty.

The guy didn't ask how to spam!
He's looking for a software on sending bulk SMS from a Linux machine. If he wanted to spam you, he would have done it with or without your help.

Just cause someone is looking for something that does something that YOU don't like, it doesn't mean he's going to cause destruction. I have a PC, and I have internet, does it make me a hacker????

Anyway, back to the point. Moonglum, take a look at web based SMS sending programs, they are platform independant

Moonie, obviously you have got a paid software version in mind, why not speak to Coretalk and see if they can give you a linux based SMS solution - they also offer database integration for SQL etc etc.

www.coretalk.co.za

And also to the "Super Grandmasters" - post count means jack sh*t it seems.
If you want to help someone do so in the best way you can don't just jump the bandwagon and call them a spammer / scammer / general idiot.

Well spammers are considered to be on the low scale of pond life. Why didn't he come out and declare why he wanted to mass-SMS? Then we won't suspect his motives and he will get help.

Super Grandmaster or not, you can't blame him. I do think the mods offer a little more respect to their voices though. -- The SPAM situation has been quite out of hand and you have to sympathise.
