So I have given this a try with ingredients that I have at home and it is amazing

The original recipe is: (can be seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjC5HWI1MVk)
1tbs Grass Fed Butter
1tbs MCT oil
1 Cup Coffee (good quality)

I followed another suggestion and used Coconut Oil instead

It came out absolutely fantastic

And if you want it to come out tasting sweet or "stabucks-ify" it you can add your favourite Whey Powder (half scoop) as seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSj4Zp-C3FE

I've done both and both are great, no need for sugar/sweetener or milk/cream for either IMO.

I vurped in my mouth. :o

What does it taste like?

Smooth creamy coffee. I think the butter softens the coffees harshness. If whey is added it takes on the flavour of the whey, since coffee is a strong flavour it does overpower the flavour of the protein powder (I used ON Vanilla Chocolate Whey)

Have you tried adding cream to your coffee instead? Or half-and-half?

I cannot even imagine this.

EDIT: It sounds like it's really rich, and you will quickly grow sick of it.

So where do you buy those extra ingredients and how much for cost of a better cuppa?
You can buy these ingredients from a health shop or Dischem

Ofcourse but its not the same IMO. I am not saying that cream/butter+oil is better/worse, I am saying that it is different

Hmmm it is about as rich as a latte or a coffee and cream at the very least.

It's not an americano replacement, just look at it as a different blend of ingredients which includes coffee. Like I said, give it a shot, you have nothing to lose esp if you have coconut oil/mct oil laying around. You can even google around a bit to see what other people have to say about it

It's normally used on a ketogenic diet, and that's the point. To fill you up while stocking up on fats.

Yeaaaaaah... If you need to add butter and oil to coffee to make it bulletproof I think I'll stick with good old milk and just put my mug down each time I get into a serious firefight.

Guys most of u have lost the plot here...

the point of the coffee is the benefits to both body and mind.... Grass Fed Butter is LOADED with good fat, this is the type of fat that will encourage ur body to burn off the excess BAD fat you are carrying around. The fat in grass fed butter along with the coconut oil or MCT (recommended) will feed you brain essential fats that will place it on hyper drive... you will be far more focused and energized than normal. TRY it and see for yourself... Butter MUST be grass fed and I would reccomend using MCT over Coconut oil, if you can't get MCT then the coconut oil will have to do
