Bullets fly in N3 VIP incident

Ive had a blue light brigade car point a gun at me. It was during the opening ceremony of the world cup in JHB. Had my mom dad and sister in the car with me and we were enroute to the stadium. There was an accident on the highway so all the cars had to use the yellow lane to get around the accident. As my turn came up a blue light car (Mercedes CLS350) came speeding up the yellow lane. I hadnt noticed him because there were no sirens and because of all the traffic. Suddenly i see him behind me not slowing down so I quickly moved back into my lane to avoid an accident (almost knocking the car in the lane next to me). Next thing his window is down and hes pointing a gun at us. My dad just told me to ignore him and let him move on. Another guy on the road in a delivery van saw the whole thing happen and said he had his registration number. He eventually chased the guy down himself. Im not sure what happened as we never reported it or followed up.

Worst of all the blue light car wasnt escorting anyone or had any passengers in his car. These guys are just thugs looking for an opportunity to kill someone.

Nope.. they were racing to get the opening ceremony.. and of course they're more important than the rest of us plebs remember.
 
Kind of the same thing happened to a few friends and myself many moons ago.

My friend's car was overheating so we had to pull over into the yellow lane. So, one a few government vehicles approached in the yellow lane and started screaming at us to get out of their way.

We had to pull the car over onto the grass, while they were swearing at us quite wildy.

Readng this article makes me quite thankful we weren't shot.
 
Would love them to pull up behind me on my bike flashing. Give them the finger, full throttle, 6 seconds later 250km/h +. Catch me now you dirty mofo's!!!!!!!! :twisted: :twisted:

More likely they weren't trying to actually hit him just scare the hell out of him.
 
I would love there to be witness's coming forward to substantiate this event and hopefully the law takes it's toll on these armed thugs. No one should be allowed to think they are above the law, where was the Mayor during this why didn't hasn't he done anything as he is supposed to if he was aware of this or are his ethics that low (thinking he must have been aware of the goings on)

Typical of the way the cANCer and the cadres do things. If the Mayor was as they are supposed to be, elected by the people and for the people he should feel comfortable to travel without guards/thugs. FFS the London mayor cycles to work and that just shows how fu<ked this country is..................

Doubtful.. this lot don't think about protecting citizens, to them you are just a peon who must be dealt with.

Would any of us have known the mayor was travelling on that road, at that time, in that vehicle if his thugs hadn't tried to shoot some innocent civilian?
 
People seriously need to start fitting dashcams to their cars. Corruption is so rife that it is the only way to defend yourself legally. Placing an order for mine at the end of the week...

I have now wondered about this a bit, would it count as self defence if I should take out my gun and protect myself in such a situation?

Not knowing who is speeding behind me, having someone blindly firing a gun at me and then me returning fire. This could get nasty should these "VIP" guys treat on the wrong toes.

....And then you make some metro cop's day with either a nice bribe or become famous/news24 article on a speeding person caught with 'claims' of running from VIP transit.

As far as I am aware they don't get special treatment on road. they can go round me if they want or pull back a safe distance to allow me to change lanes where safely possible. If not.. suck it

Not out of concern for the citizen but avoiding the **** storm that would have resulted from killing the him.

Metro. That's actually very amusing. Not sure of any Metro who is willing to play catch with a bike, at least not to date. This isn't a car you know. You can't play catch with a bike.
