Then why is JL Potgieter on his way to the Sharks? Or is only Pienaar included in this rivalry. This is a professional era and if they pay enough, any player will leave. Just look at all the Cheetahs/Lions flocking to Durban.

And yes, I agree they messed up Brent Russels career by not specialising him in 1 position. But in Lambie's case that won't happen, he will play center for the rest of this season and maybe next season. Andre Pretorius, Jaques-Louie Potgieter and Len Olivier will cover Fly-half. Terblanche and Ludick will cover Full-Back.

How can you be so sure about him playing centre for a prolonged period?
Just check when injury strikes and they move him around to fill the gaps.

In any case, Zane Kirchner has alot to learn from the young,resilient Patrick Lambie. It's Lambie who should be wearing the no.15 Green and Gold jersey.

I'm not the biggest Kirchner fan but he is a solid fullback. Makes mistakes like any other player but solid in all aspects of the game. Why would you want to rush Lambie into the Bok squad anyway?
So the Sharks should play him at centre? The Boks should play him on fullback? And half the country wants him to play flyhalf. Sounds like Brent Russel to me.

P.S Hope you managed to catch the Sharks destroy the Cheetahs in the last 10 min this past weekend?

I unfortunately missed the game because I was covering Affies vs Glenwood school rugby, but I made sure to congratulate all the Sharks fans on the win. I heard Lambie had a great game. Congrats.

Anyway. Lets discuss this in the General Rugby thread because we're not discussing the Bulls at all now.

JL-Potgieter signed a 2 year deal with the Sharks from 2011-2013.

Terblanche defnitely has another season or 3 him. He is the fittest of all the Sharks players FYI.
Jacobs will be returning next season, so no worries as far as depth goes...

Kirchner is the most predictable Full-back in World rugby, 98% of the time he kicks a "Garry Owen" and 97% of the time it does not pay of... Franz Steyn had lots of pressure on his shoulders at the 2007 Rugby World Cup when Jean de Villiers went out of the cup in the very first match. 19 Year old Steyn stepped up to be the youngest winner in history, even slotting a 52 meter penalty in the final. Lambie has what it takes to become the next Franz Steyn.

Morning Chaps, can't we make some sort of a deal?, Why not let you guy's keep Potgeiter at the bulls, the Sharks have Lambie and we might be getting Andre Pretorius, thats enough flyhalves.
Maybe rather send us one or two of your bulls babe dancers...... uhm, scratch that, sorry guys forget about the whole thing, when and where do we fetch Potgeiter.

You have to laugh at these supporters who only come crawling out of their slimy holes when their team is winning. Otherwise, you don't see or hear from them at all.
Not the best CC so far for the Bulls :(. Looking forward to the S14 though but my wife is not.. :D

well, to be fair, the sharks have been in 2/3 finals of super 14. but that trophy case... eish...

it's seems they've been keeping that "not winning anything for 16 years, but no we've won 1 currie cup, so that makes us the best team ever" mentality...

let them enjoy it, were too busy identifying all the trophies in our cabinets...

I was only referring to the last S14 like he is comparing to 1 Currie Cup. I know how well the Sharks did & did not do to.. ;)

Its just that you get these supporters, Sharks, Bulls & especially of late WP supporters who come out of the blue to support "their" glorious team. It just grates me, thats all.

In the end its always nice to win but Stats are VERY important too. It shows consistency & team that is constantly thinking ahead.

On a side note, what the hell happened to our defense in this Tri-Nations. Nee yislaaik, Wynand, Habana & a few other guys let us down big time. Juan Smith is a machine hey, he is such a hard worker & Hougaard is also impressing me at the moment. We really have some great talent, we just need a pair like Jones & White to put it to proper use.
