Bulls rock Thread

I'm thinking.....

When I (eventually) sober up, I'll make sense. But, for now, know this: the stormers (and their [-]ring-plunging[/-] shit-stirring fans) may feel somewhat smug at their log position but that is meaningless without:
* BMT, as mentioned above;
* A captain that doesn't break and need rest every 4 weeks;
* A trophy or two to show for it;
* class!

and coming here into this thread and showing one's lack of class is typical of the opposition-booing NZ-supporting papsak-drinking common bunch down south. Learn some class. Maybe, instead of invading a BULLS thread, try and start your own "Stormers Are Straight" or other he-man thread, seeing as how us BULLS, lions and sharks fans have managed to do so...

Big time lol :D

Bulls:

15 Zane Kirchner, 14 Akona Ndungane, 13 Johann Sadie, 12 Wynand Olivier, 11 Bjorn Basson, 10 Morné Steyn, 9 Francois Hougaard, 8 Pierre Spies (captain), 7 Jacques Potgieter, 6 CJ Stander, 5 Juandre Kruger, 4 Flip van der Merwe, 3 Werner Kruger, 2 Chiliboy Ralepelle, 1 Dean Greyling

Substitutes: 16. Willie Wepener, 17. Frik Kirsten, 18. Wilhelm Steenkamp, 19. Arno Botha, 20. Jano Vermaak, 21. Louis Fouche, 22. JJ Engelbrecht

Wonder if he was included to perhaps give Morne a "shortened" game or if he was included to replace Morne if he has another off day.

Reds:

15 Rod Davies, 14 Dom Shipperley, 13 Jono Lance, 12 Ben Tapuai, 11 Luke Morahan, 10 Dallan Murphy, 9 Will Genia, 8 Jake Schatz, 7 Beau Robinson, 6 Scott Higginbotham, 5 James Horwill (captain), 4 Rob Simmons, 3 Greg Holmes, 2 Saia Faingaa, 1 Ben Daley

Substitutes: 16 James Hanson, 17 James Slipper, 18 Radike Samo, 19 Van Humphries, 20 Liam Gill, 21 Nick Frisby, 22 Nathan Eyres-Brown

I think the Bulls should win this barring them being caught sleeping and missing easy points on offer again.

I feel very sorry for Venter as he is dropped. He is a talent to keep an eye on for the future.

Agreed. If Morne has his kicking boots on, which he will have, we should pull it through.

Yes Venter is someone that should be kept an eye on. Great player for the future.

Awesome game by the Bulls tonight. I would never have predicted that margin. And the 2011 S15 champions got a thrashing of note. Not going to do their confidence any good :D

Well done, Bulls!

Great result for the Bulls.

As a Stormers fan I must admit the Bulls inspire more confidence. I'm a perennial Stormers worrier. :p

Like over 50% of the Bulls team is actually from the western cape.

Oh, and just thinking out aloud. ;) In the first 5 mins (and later), the outstanding players were J Potgieter, Ndungane, Kirchner and Basson. There is another thread that mentions that the Southern Kings produce zero talent.

IMO, those players are paid by the Bulls and therefore are rightly Bulls players, but I think are proof that SK aren't totally devoid of any talent. I just get a little irritated when I see ppl posting that. Granted, the SK currently hardly deserve to be in the Currie Cup, but don't you guys think the talent you buy are least ok? I've made peace with the fact that the players are pro and move around, but if the SK could keep their talent, they might be in Super Rugby on merit?

Not to mention all the other SA teams that have talent from the SK, but they just stood out for me in the Bulls game.

Ja, I don't think anyone is of the view that the area is unable to produce talent but many are of the view that the Kings in particular are unable to either develop and nurture or retain raw talent. Did any of those players actually play in the Kings? Or were they from surrounding teams, like Border and Elephants?

Agreed, MickeyD posted a list of players from the Eastern Province/Border precinct that are now playing elsewhere. Must say, quite an impressive list of players. I will concede there is definitely a case for the Southern Kings being included in top tier competition.

In a perfect world wouldn't it be nice if a rugby players salary was standardized so that there would be little or no financial benefit to be gained from moving to another province. In essence the home grown talent would stay put and represent their respective province in the CC or Super 15.

List of players formerly form the Easterns/Border precinct...

EDIT: I reckon you could put together a more than useful outfit with those players.

EDIT: If provinces were dependent on home grown talent the Sharks would be most handicapped province followed closely by the Lions. The biggest beneficiaries would be the Cheetahs and possibly Eastern Province..
