Bullying video shock

Putting the bully in a normal school when he should be in a special needs one isn't doing anyone any favors. He was already held behind once if I have that correctly.

13 and 14 year olds - grade 8

He's completely right, though. What is the teacher supposed to do? She can't touch them without risking an assault lawsuit. If she tries to intervene the only thing she can do is ask them to stop, and that would only make it worse for the kid being bullied in the long run.

Teachers' hands are tied. The educational department has so many rules and regulations for this type of **** that kids can do whatever they want and teachers can't do a damn thing. Remember that incident a year or two ago where bullies broke a boy's back and the bullies got to go back to school a day later? Exact same thing. The educational department is full of ****.

What needs to be done is for the educational department to place control back into the school's hands. If a kid makes himself known to be a bully, tell him to **** off and go become a hobo.

No doubt but then you get the company line "every child has a right to education" which will be used in cases of expulsion. I've read a few stories where expulsions were overturned.

Yup. Nearly every time I took a swing at someone taking a swing at me, I ended up in k@k and he walked.

My school experience was one of, the teachers are on the side of the bullies and will do nothing to help.

This video confirms that for me.

Further back than that by a good many years and the teacher would have bliksemmed 20 levels of shit into any kid trying that in his class! :D

All the above. Those Afrikaan's schools up in the midlands were especially bad. My dad went to a school in Potch, school was like army then you were terrified of authority.

The amount of times I was cained in Muir was just :wtf:

The entire hostel got lined up most nights for a few lashes.
Myself and 4 kids used straws to shoot toilet paper at some kid that was sent to the front for talking.
The teacher turned around and he was covered in toilet paper blobs.
We were promptly sent to the principal for lashes.

If she does her job right, she does not need to use force. Her presence and a raised voice should be enough to stop them. But she makes no effort to do anything, so they continue.

Or she could have called the police, if it is that bad. Or school security, if they have any. If police are called, then there will be no allegations of assault. Taze every last one of them.

Sure, that won't stop the bullying entirely. But to have the teacher do nothing is unacceptable. It sends the message that lawlessness is acceptable.
 
The school where this incident occurred had a very good disciplinary record in the 80s and even the early 90s. There were plenty of very tough folks there; ask anyone who played rugby against Otto du Plessis!! (Jan Serfontein to mention one!)
