I have used up my current 1Gb Bundle and have to get by untill the 8th September when my next billing run is, please can someone tell me what the cheapest option with regards to topping up is, clearly if I do nothing and continue to use data on my current bundle witch is now out of bundle, i will receive a whopping bill this month - also are you able to top up with a 350MB option on current contracts?

There currently isn't an option to load additional bundles before your bill cycle but we are looking into that

Your best bet is to get a pre-paid MTN card and load a bundle on that...

if i buy a prepaid MTN card and load a bundle onto that, can that be topped up if it runs out and can you buy specific card for data only, also is there a process to getting this all initialised or do I just buy it and away you go.

you can't top a pre-paid sim either, you will have to use a different sim for each bundle in a 30 day period.
What happens if you cancel a 100MB bundle halfway through the month and subscribe to a 350MB bundle?
I did something similar a couple of months ago going from a 100 SMS bundle to a 200 SMS bundle, I was refunded for the half of the 100 SMS bundle and charged half of the 200 SMS bundle. I didn't try and figure out how many SMSs I had sent at each rate, but the bill seemed reasonable.

When you load the 100 bundle you pay the pro rata plus a month upfront, that means that should you up the total to a 350 mb bundle and happen to have some left on the 100 bundle that 100 bundle will first be used up, then the 350 bundle will kick in. the 100mb allocation will fall away on the invoice date to make way for the new bundle.

In terms of contract you have to do it via your SP if it's Prepaid then I would assume you have to do it via *141# or via a supermarket or via 173

Yea, i have 2 prepaid MTNs sims which i interchange to simulate a top-up
I usually load a 350MB on the 1 sim [call 555 , follow the menus to add bundle] , then i use it until it's depleted. If i use it up before 30 days are over, i load a bundle on my 2nd sim THEN [size of bundle depends how fast i used my first bundle
].
I am not aware of anything like that.
Vodacom is even more restricted than MTN, as their bundles run calendar months ONLY [not 30 days from bundle activation].
So with Voda you have this silly situation where if you get to the 20th of the month and your bundle is gone, you can NOT buy a bundle which activates on the 20th. So if you want a bundle THEN, you will only get it on the 1st [so you are screwed for 10 days no matter what!].
At the moment the 2 MTN sim trick works nicely. I am using Virgin [which do not use any bundling at all] to fill the gap if the 2 sims do not work out. As soon as Virgin can sort out their SIMS/network i'll probably use them more to avoid all this silly bundling systems.

The only problem with Virgin and their affordability is that alot of folks are jumping onto this bandwagon causing some annoying decrease in bandwidth, lag, speed, you name it.
