Hi folks

For those of you who have missed the Business Focus interview on SABC regarding broadband in South Africa, you can download it from here: http://www.home.telkomsa.net/rudolph/sabc_business_focus.wmv

Thanks a bunch to Beyers and Antowan who made this possible.

Regards,

RPM

PS: After I saw myself on TV I realized that more regular squash games might just be a good idea :D

RPM,

Nothing to worry about, no problem with your weight, just visible that's all!

Just saw the interview - thanks for hosting it guys ;)

Great job rpm - once again, all the right buttons were pushed (legally protected monopoly, pricing compared to other African countries etc). The points came across with strength and credibility.

The only squash you should be concerned about, is that of the monopoly :p

That reminds me, I should be hitting the courts too! I love squash... what a cool game :)

Busy downloading the interview now. Sure it will be good.

Excellent interview. Well spoken, rpm. Just a shame you didn't have more time to slog telkom ;)

Just finished watching. Well done RPM!
Loved the fact that you compared our broadband services to other African services as well. I think that really drove the point home.
The woman who interviewed you even seem amazed after realising how poor our services are.

Excellent stuff RPM, it makes me proud to be a member of MyADSL. :D
Lets see how many new members join up now. :)

Cheers
Chris

Hey rpm - join the club - er, I don't mean the gym, I mean the weight - oh, whatever :)

I've been meaning to pick up my squash racket and get back into it for 5 years !

/me has another slurp of beer ... (my last diet lasted 3 days ending right now) :D

BTW, listening now ! (with one eye on the cricket)

Very well spoken rpm - I can see you've got that patter down and practiced with a very consistent message, it's amazing to see what your doing to get the word out there. I'm sure in the long run, it will make a difference and maybe will launch your career in broadcasting ! :D

:) I think we should put rpm up for the man of the year award or something. Allot of hard work goes into this, thanks for keeping it up!

Damn RPM ... I take my hat off to you.

Clean and simple presentation which was easy to follow. Hard hitting facts.

Telkom's nads have to be hurting after that one.

PS: You're in the wrong field. You should be a diplomat / politician etc...

rpm cares too much about the South African public and consumers to be a politician. ;)

Finally got a chance to watch the clip, Thanks rpm for pointing out the harsh reality to business professionals around South Africa.

rpm: very good job. Its awesome how myadsl's message is starting to get out to the public. I'm sure we'll see the fruits of it soon. Cheers to rpm, MaD and all the rest for doing their bit :D

Wow just finished watching it.. brilliantly done RPM!

I think we should all perhaps chip in a little money and contribute towards a TV advert, explaining our current broadband situation. Imagine an advert on mnet and/or sabc being broadcasted every 45min or so explaining to the people how '***' telkom is :)
Or maybe one of those glomail, verimark type presentations...

 Nice idea except that TV adverts cost like you cannot believe, let's try the bumper stickers & other "cheap-skate" (:D) methods first, unlike Telkomonopoly that throws our money into their advertising, we don't need expensive TV adverts to get the same if not better effect. I would however like to show my support by making a donation towards current efforts, e.g. bumper stickers etc... I suggest stricktly voluntary though for those with a few bob mugabez that telkom don't yet own :)

The bumper sticker idea is great, however as much as I support this site and the cause I wont be putting a sticker on my car. What might be a good idea though is... the black thingi (no idea whats its called) thats hold your license plate, well a lot of dealerships stick their names on it, we could put www.myadsl.co.za on there and get the same effect without messing up the car. ;)

Hi IC & Alchamy

No need for donations…MyADSL will gladly cover the costs of the printing. I think it might be a good idea to print both bumper stickers and license holders… But again you guys will decide on what is best. After the slogan is selected I will run a poll and then decide on what is best…

RPM
