hi guys

not a big poster here, more around the corner in adsl and pc hardware so Im a bit of a TV noob :p

while back I sold my Sammy 32" LCD, wasnt really using it, and besides it was HD ready (only 720p) and I new I would need 1920x1080 eventually.

soooo... time to buy another TV. The 32" was a good size, just a little too small, so I wannt grab a 37" this time. My budget is limited so no bigger! :)

I have access to various dealers, pc hardware dealers, not those dealers  They have sammy and some LG and one or two in-house brands, one in particular being from Pinnacle Micro, called Proline. My eye is fixed on this Proline 37", see specs below, does anyone have any thoughts or comments/experience with these?

Proline 37" LCD TV Full HD, 1080P, 1920 x 1080, 5ms, 1600:1 - Blk, 2x8W Speaker

16:9 (1.77), SCART x2, HDMI x4, PC IN x1, YPbPr x1 - excl Cables

Im a reasonable person, so Im quite familiar with, "you get what you pay for"

I will be using this screen to hook up to my PC (blu-ray player) to watch the odd HD movie, but mostly for series and such from TPB ;) At a later stage I will reconsider DSTV to watch Roger Federer kick Nadal's ass! :D

any help, would be greatly appreciated!

budget? i looked at sinotecs given that many around here have bought and liked them. but i never did, so i went samsung. Samsung and sony were the 2 options for me and i rationalised an increase in the budget ;)

Sony is the best for LCD's atm.

I don't think it is good, is it not simply a ying-yang chinese thing branded by pinnacle micro here in SA?

That is a good price for the Proline. Go for it, buy it and then give the rest of us a review. :D
