Looking at cloud nine, but they have different models. Which one did you buy?

I Was looking at the 50th anniversary blue edition, but some say it has issues denting in the middle before even 1 year of use.
There are two things in life you don't cheap out on. Great coffee and a great bed to sleep on. Get the essential https://www.thebedcentre.co.za/product/essential-firm-mattress/ or similar.

EDIT: It's also called the Camden XT https://cloudnine.co.za/our-beds/i-sleep/camden-vx/ so you can shop around and get a great price.

I bought from Dial a Bed and their service is excellent. Simmons or Sealy though, I ended up overspending on the Simmons.

I found Tafelberg a waste of time.

Purchased my last bed from here - https://bedsfromhome.co.za

Decently priced and really comfortable. Had an issue with the pocket springs and sent it back 6 years later. No argument as all. Completely replaced top layer and springs for free on the same day.

They have a store in Tokai as well as online.

These places always throw around buzzwords. Only Cloud Nine is endorsed by CASA (Chiropractic Association of South Africa).

I think mine was called the Tuscan or some other Italian name and it's main thing is being quite firm with the cool latex top. Memory foam tops are too hot and too soft of for my liking.

It's probably near 10 years old now and perfect still.

The other ones in the house are the bottom end Mono-flex and to be honest with you I sleep perfectly fine on all of those too. They are maybe a little firmer but I don't mind that at all.

My advice would be to go lay around on some but then order online from Beds-on-line as they'll likely have the best price or simply get whoever to match it.

Okay ringing endorsement for Cloud 9 (i.e. all foam... Really? Is it better? But okay?)

Thanks for the advice. Wasn't planning on cheaping out, but also was trying not to over pay for that high quality.

Looks like the ones we are looking at are 13000-17000 for a queen...
Really feel it's more like the artificial lawn or tiles or new cars. List price means nothing, small margins overall but really hard to tell if you're the pidgeon overpaying for nothing special or getting a bargain for luxury.

Aish yes... They all have different names in each store... In one place it's named after London area (the Camden, the Winchester...) in another store the same brand is named Gold/platinum... In another Soba, Siva and Sheba...

Aaaaarrrgghh... So annoying being a consumer.

"Try it in the store" advice... A bit of me thinks -- these are showroom models, they could have been here 2 days or 2 years... And could have had kids bouncing on them. A new one is going to be much firmer / different in lots of ways...
And then they deliver something I have no idea if it's what I lay on or not.

I'm starting to think there might just be 1 bed model and they just charge different amounts for it :)

We also have the Cloud 9 Camden XT. In the beginning it was really hard but you get used to it and now it's absolutely amazing.

I really hope you intend to go test them before buying. And don't just hop on & off - spend a few minutes lying on the thing. Am also using a pure foam mattress now and can't imagine ever using anything else.

Bunch of nonsense. Will take you two + weeks to get used to the bed anyway and if you try it in store you should take your pillow with as well.

I sleep on a kooi mattress...King XL arranged sideways so myself the family and 3 cats have 2m width by 183cm depth to sleep on.
We went for the softest we could as we aren't too heavy...was around 10k a couple of years ago.
Know one of the manufacturers owners who seems like an upstanding guy....and bought from them as a result...no complaints at all and have always slept comfortably on it.

Did the fancy pocket coil ****, day one already I knew it wasn’t the same as the one tested in the store.

Many weeks of fighting and “repairs” later finally got it refunded and went Cloud Nine.

All foam is in fact the secret, there is basically nothing that can go wrong.

Buy two of their pillows while you are at it as well.

Crazy long warranties too.

Just make sure to buy in the correct weight range and keep a mattress protector on it and you can’t go wrong.

Just make sure that you can return the bed ( normally within a specific time period) if not 100% happy.

We exchanged our bed 3x times before we were satisfied - bought from Tafelberg.

We now have a Sloom (King EL) and extremely happy with it.
