Hi all,

This is my first time on the Photography side of the world:)

Here is the deal, I am in China now and in the market for a new Digital Camera, my old Canon Powershot is way outdated. The Prices are very good and in order not to make any people sick to the stomach I will make no mention further on price.

I did some browsing and thought of buying a Canon Powershot S90 but were told here that the Sony DSC-W330 is a better option and that the S90 is outdated. The problem is there are so many options here that my head is spinning and i do not know what to choose.

I would buy either Canon or Sony but want to make sure I buy a good product and would appreciate any advice.
Requirements I am looking for: Small Compact Digital with 10 Mega Pixels +, Raw Format (not sure), HD Video (not really needed but would be nice) Good battery life (would most probably buy a spare one)
What model do you recommend and why?

Give whoever told you that a klap. The S90 was launched about 6 months ago, and it is excellent. I can't speak for the Sony, but looking at the specs, the only thing it has going for it is higher resolution, and I'm not convinced that's necessarily a good thing - it has a much smaller sensor.

The S90 will give you all of that except HD video (same for the Sony). To be honest, all the HD video I've seen from compact cameras are so compressed that it doesn't actually look that good anyway.

As I said, I can't talk for the Sony, but this specific model looks like a much lower class camera than the S90, and the price difference reflects that. The S90 is superb - you won't be disappointed.
