Buying a house, but divorce not finalized

Hi all.

I have done my divorce myself via the magistrate’s courts. We filed mid last year and was hoping that it would be sorted by now.

Anyway, I have applied to buy a house and it seems I cannot continue without the divorce being finalized as I was married COP.

Is there anyway of speeding up the divorce at the courts. I have gone multiple times to see if they got the court date but the keep telling me it is at the family court.

Can I hire a lawyer to get it finalized at this point?

What are my options?
