Buying my first car

Hey everlast i called ur insurance on friday an i got an awsome quote from u guys the rest of u should give it a shot !i mean there is almost a R500 Saving on my premium

i was on other forums on friday and thats how i came across YES r u from yes everlast?

@everlast, sadly, you will not be trusted on this forum if your first and only posts are advertising an amazing deal. Though we may all wish it to be true, we trust fellow forumites who have been around for a while and have a name behind them.

We'll have to wait for more confirmation that just you. And I am not trying to slam the company, I certainly hope it is true and a trustworthy insurance company, because if it is I will be very interested.

Yeah, it sounds great, but I'm very sceptical about it. Insurance is not something to mess around with, especially if you buying a new car and something happens to it. If this is legit, then thats great if it isn't legit...then anyone involved will have a huge headache.

I can't even find anything on the net. I want proof they're underwritten by Regent. Whats their actual company name? Is it "Yes Insurance", or "I AM YES Insurance"?

Hell, it could be like an insurance Ponzi scheme!!!

No im not from YES i have family in Regent. You can phone Regent yourself and hear. They opened it to family of employees last week but people have been asked to spread the word. Regent is the under writer sorry i don't have any proof other than their number it's 011 284 2345 they can then put you through to them.
Sorry guys im only trying to help here im not trying to scam anyone really im not but give it a shot what do you have to lose. Hear from Regent themselves then if you guys are worried. It's not on the Regent site just yet either like i said it's only just opened to staff and employees

well i tryed out the yes insurance and its legit i also thought it would be a scam but ya its pretty awsome
im surprised that a insurance company is doing something like that

Called them now. Very professional. I have asked for supporting documents etc. But from what I have heard, its a good concept and sounds legit.

Yeah the only thing I am worried about is that Everlast came on advertising straight out. Then when asked about the claims process and whether s/he has gone through a claim yet. S/he said that the claims were easy and efficient, very professional. But now s/he states that it was only opened to family last week. Meaning that s/he could not have gone through a claims process yet..... Caught in a web of stories it seems. Legit or not, I will not take a chance on this insurance until it hits mainstream media.

The claims process is through Regent and being insured for 6 years by Regent I know the claims process is quick and efficient.
Thanks SteveO glad someone had the guts to try something new. I hope you get all the documentation you need.

They sent me some promo material, if anyone wants it PM me I will email it on

thanks for the email :)

well it looks legit, underwritten by regent and all. they install a gps unit in your car to track usage.

Looks like a scam. Someone comes onto the forum and does nothing but advertise. So much so that he either works for the company or is a scammer. Then another poster with an account created today comes on to back him up.

Plus on the last page of the pamphlet they mention that there are only 500 policies available. No insurance company would want only 500 policies. They need thousands of policies to hedge the risk. Seems like someone trying to make a quick buck.

I've heard of those types of things before, but I'm pretty sure they also integrated with the onboard system via ODB-II or something.

If it's purely GPS, what's to stop people from getting a GPS jammer for when they want to be driving like a chop?

Does it have additional accelerometers and things to monitor the times the GPS is not synced?

its legit - a friend of mine works at regent
the first 500 policy thing is a special/pilot project
