I have everything up and running, and the basics are working with XBMC, sickbeard and SABNZB.
One thing I cant seem to get working though...
I added my tv series folder, which I only had modern family in. I purposefully deleted an episode so it would go and find it, just to test things. I found the missing one, downloaded it, and moved it to the right folders etc etc
but my library didnt update in XBMC
If I close XBMC and open it, then it rescans the library... but I wanna leave it open.
Did you manage to get this working? ie. library auto-update in xbmc

I find the library feature on XBMC flaky to say the least, I end to just use the "files" view. One thing you can do if you are using the XBMC Android app is force a re-scan from there, that said it still misses some files in library mode.

never mind I think I answered my own question.... There is a setting in sickbeard that auto-updates the library when a download is done. I must not have that option selected... will check later

But I have just been shown the world of sickbeard... wow I am in love.
But the only problem is I am a torrent boy. I've never use usenet to download and the install guide (sickbeard) works best with usenet. I see mention of SABnzbd. I have also heard that usenet arent free to download from? AM I correct.
My isp is mweb.
I really want this process to be automated. Ie new episode released.... sickbeard finds it and pushes the download their either torrent or usenet and then update file with naming and updates xbmc.... I just need some guidance...

You can get "juice" as part of your low cost ADSL from axxess.co.za - this is very cheap usenet access.

how far did you get with your setup? I have just gone through the entire process and have it working flawlessly.
even did the post-processing of renaming all my episodes
