C.A.P.E. party

Yes, and the support is not 10000 people...

It would be a large portion of the population, which is many many many times more than 10000.

Why is this concept so difficult for you to grasp?

Btw, you do know that they have said that they would support the referendum only because they KNOW it will never happen, it was said to shut up the CAPE party and their whiney little supporter club.

10000 is a substantial number of people in your social circle yes, but in the political sense it is an insignificant portion of the people in a province of 5.2m people.

The concept that for something such as seccesion to be decided for an ENTIRE province, you will need a majority to vote yes on it. Given my basic maths that equates to you needing 3.4m people (or so) to say yes. 10000 is nowhere NEAR enough given that it is approximately 0.003% of the required total.

If you haven't figured it out yet, I hold this proposition in complete contempt for the elitist, head-in-the-sand, tail between its legs type of proposition it actually is.

76% of your taxes in what respect?

They will have my vote. Why the hell not? Didn't help when I voted ANC first time around. I also think many ppl will support such an idea. I even think the ANC supporters will support such an idea

It's called a "sample" (steekproef) , used to get an I.....N.....D.....I.....C.....A.....T.....I.....O.....N

of how ppl might vote.

skuze me, shutdown while editing post

this is what they claim that othe provinces suc as the EC: "This is compared with the Eastern Cape that receives R183 for every R100 that they pay. The people of the Cape have 76% of their taxed wealth stolen from them, while the Eastern Cape enjoys an 83% gain.
An independent Cape would have 4 times more money to spend on its people."

Thie site: http://www.capeparty.com

The resources in the country are not evenly distributed.

Precisely they aren't...

But i'd like some official source for this "76% of their tax money being "stolen" from them.

Nope sorry...

doesn't quite work that way in a "debate".. someone made the claim, they must back it up with the source that they base that claim on.

think he got it off the Cape Party website, although they claim 70%. As far as I know they also don't provide a source there either.

That's like pissing in the ocean to flood the earth... Please support viable opposition such as the DA

Then the claim is completely baseless and must be ignored.

Which also claimed this amazing "100 billion dollar GDP" and that the Cape would be the "top 10 highest income country" if it were to become independant.

A little online poll??? You are basing your facts upon on that?

This elitist split, and the people that support me are quite shocking to say the least.

They have no facts, or very little facts, and don't understand the true impact secession will have. They just "DEMAND".

The Cape Party has been criticised in the press as a narrow, single-issue party without substantive policy. Commentators have alleged that its platform is racist, and particularly vilifies migrant workers from elsewhere in South Africa, who work in the Western Cape.[9] Because of these policies, political activist Zackie Achmat has compared the Cape Party to the far-right British National Party.

Cape Party website is loaded with non-factual garbage anyway. It's not even running properly.
