Sorry for the necro, but man this game is addictive! Just dug out the .rar file I had of the free version, and started playing again.
Anyone else still play? I am trying to get rid of the stuttering that a lot of folks seem to have, and I have tried many things such as the ddraw.dll patch, the Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit and some hacking of the .mix files - still no go. I am considering a VM but only as a last resort.
I take my hat off to Westwood for making a game back in the 90's that at least runs on Windows 7 x64 with a quad core CPU! w00t
