C for yourself

i'm quite suprised that 90% of traffic is on their own network. I was under the impression that they were using Vodacom extensively. I know a large of people think so.

It is surprising indeed - they have quietly grown their network over the past few years. Questions however remain over the financial outlook of the company – not easy to go up again two giants in a ‘competitive market’ (hence no real help from the regulator).

I would love to give them a chance, but everyone I know who uses them constantly has signal problems, I'd send a sms and they'd get it 30 minutes later.

So, till they fix this, I'll stick with Vodacom - I've just cancelled my MTN contract, MTN are just the most useless company out there, I can still tolerate Vodacom.

it was 80% over it's own network two years ago...gets harder and harder to get sites to erect towers with more and more non-traditional wireless players entering the market.

I have come to the conclusion that they suck no less than Vodacom and MTN.
I have just trashed my last MTN account and gone with a cell C deal simply because they offer lower call charges to friends and family and in general. On top of that my wife is on Cell C so call charges are pretty reasonable.
Then I got the N73 + garmin bluetooth GPS + 100 any time inclusive minutes for R280 pm...

MTN didn't even try treat me like a potential customer (I was a 6 year old contract to them - no more work required)... and vodacom was just plain 50 bucks a month more for the same thing excluding their call charges. And that meercat!

Fortunately I don't need mobile data as much as I did before, but I was surprised to see that I get very good speed on cell c edge and so far no hitches at all.

I have been using Fring (mobile skype) to call my brother in NZ using skype out... I can find no fault with the call quality. And AFAIK they don't threaten to dock me 25 bucks a meg for VoIP.

These guys are useless. My cellphone has not worked during the weekend ever since the 'free' weekend thing. I live in EL. I have spoken to them about this before, but they said that it was going to come right. Well, I need my phone during the weekend in case of an emergency. After months of waiting for CellC, I'm finally going to switch to Vodacom. We have one prepaid and one contract phone.

Eish... I live in EL and don't have any hassles. Granted things were bad to start with and maybe I don't use it too often on weekends, but I don't have any complaints at this stage. What area are you in?

Isn't it funny how inconsistent experiences within a cellular network are. I suppose end of the day it comes down to the person who you are dealing with and which way the wind is blowing on that particular day :D

Would be interesting to have a proper wide scale poll taken at all the networks and see what the trend is at a particular network with regard to hostage/customer experience.
