Cable damage affecting Gauteng

Telkom have some cable damage and this is affecting areas of the 3G network in the South of Gauteng, Midrand and some other areas.

Sounds like the break is over 300 meters.
 
pls let us know ASAP as i need 3G for my work because GPRS is way too slow and EDGE...never experienced it...

everything fine now, thou a bit unstable, 1 bar only now, usually is 3 bars signal

It all came back up late last night.

What you probably saw was reduced connectivity due to some towers being out. Attempting to connect to the available towers (if any) will give a sub-standard experience, such as 619's, as everyone connects to the available portion of the network.
 
yikes, i see a cable break at the end of the month between my bank account and vodacom, sorry but the debit order could not get thru. ....:) :) :D

spoke to 155 guys and they told me they've been upgrading the towers and when i asked them when the process would be concluded they told me they sent a message to the network team which will contact me in 24hrs
so im waiting...
@v3g if you can give me a clue on whats going on i'd be thankful
