Call Forwarding Active

I just recently ported from Vodacom to an MTN contract. Now whenever I phone someone a message pops up saying call forwarding active as soon as I press call. I have checking in settings and my phone tells me that call forwarding is off....

What could this be?

It means that you have voice mail/call waiting etc etc set up. Very normal to see this.

My phones have been displaying that message since I can remember.

What is call waiting? And why is it displaying that now and not when I was using vodacom? Also call forwarding says it is off on my phone.

Service that allows you to answer another incoming call while you're busy on a call already.

Also call forwarding says it is off on my phone.

Forwarding to voicemail also counts as divert. Only time you won't see that message would be when you activate "Cancel all diverts", but then your number won't go to voicemail when your phone is off.
