Calling all IT techies / Server Admins

Hi Guys,

Please note we have updated the client that runs on the server to include a "install a service" option. Client version now is 1.4. Please uninstall old version and install this new version.

Im also attaching how well the AutoWaller works from a server, bringing down the attempts from 4500 a day to 9 a day.

Guys, just a heads up,

If the client is giving you stick, just make sure you have 32-bit Java Runtime installed. If the service wont start and its giving you a beat down this is the reason.

Might only be me, but here are my finding and suggestions...

Download Client

Download java and install, if not already installed.

Download the client and install it.

Enter your username, password and a unique name for you server or computer. Click save and then close.

The logging will be installed as a service.

C:\cloudalertclient\cloudsirenservicew.exe manages your service and you can start and stop it from there.

Set startup type to "Automatic"

Start the service and then click OK. Close the installation screen.

The client will automatically be picked up by the dashboard.

Like I said, this might be only for me, but I didn't have java install (was busy with it and then ran the setup of your client anyway), so I didn't get the screen for email, password and unique name. I then uninstalled your client, after Java was install. The uninstall didn't remove my service, which was still running and thus, couldn't delete the folder.

I manually stopped the service, deleted it and was then able to delete the folder. Re-installed the client and I can see my PC in the dashboard now.

How "live" is the data shown?
Can you add an uptime widget as well?

Hi SharkBait,

We have a removeservice.bat that needs to be called during the uninstall. Thank you for reminding us of this. Will be adding uptime widget soon as well. Data is refreshed every 1 minute.

Would be nice to get time the machine reported in last,as well as Public IP

Coming right up, thanks for providing your feedback, it really excites us!!!!

:)
Also custom thresholds, the 90% defaults are very tight for High-density setups

I see my suggestions haven't made it to you page yet. ;) :p

Anyway, downloaded the 64bit version, installed and then uninstalled it. Same issue as before, but at least the service was stopped this time. Not sure if you are still working on this though?

Also getting this error now, when trying to start the service:

Hi SharkBait,

Read your previous post. In rush perhaps I should have communicated better. In your opinion how should we have done the client deployment?

Your error is related to the PATH variables on that system. Please confirm that your 64-bit Java is loaded there if you running the 64-bit version of the client. Deployment of the client needs work I agree, ALOT! Im thinking we should have a script in the install or deployment of the client that checks and verifies the JAVA path and alerts you to the issue. Your thoughts?

Right now we trying to get people onto the dashboard and comment on that as the dashboard took almost all the work.

I wasn't talking about the client deployment (exe), but rather the steps on the website, just add the text in bold. That was my suggestion.
There is no jvm.dll file in my Java folder and a re-install didn't fix it.
How can we remove clients from the dashboard?

please allow the profile to be a difference between male/female lol.

Another thing, the "logout" button text is non existent.

i found a graphical glitch under system logs where the second row in the item font changes when you hover over it, which changes the size of the row which creates a weird bug, i can mail you the vid i took if u PM me ur mail?
EDIT: this only happens when the text changes and a word is on the bottom line and when the text changes size, it moves to the top. it happens when the screen is a certain size.

this is not fitting right:

One more thing maybe with the client, if the user types the incorrect credentials (which i did and didnt realise why my server wasnt appearing on the dashboard for about 3 hours) notify the user rather than just saving.
