There a couple of specials at the moment on relatively compact cameras with high image quality. They are still a bit expensive however. The Fujifilm XT-20 is on a discount price and the Pentax K-70 (DSLR that is the same size as a mirrorless) comes with a free 50mm lens. Both these cameras use the same sensor and return identical image quality in the RAW files. Differences in the jpegs are down to personal taste.
