Hello,
Okay here is the issue, I had a Canon 500D and after some waterfall photography it kind of ended up in the river.
Now insurance has paid out and I have put in some money so I have R12000.

I can get a 60D with an 8GB SD card and 18-55mm IS lens for R8500 or I can get a 600D with 18-55mm & 55-250mm and an extra battery and 2 16GB memory cards for R6500.... Now the problem is which one????? I also need to replace my EF 28-135mm IS USM Lens.

Any suggestions?

This is not really an answer, but here is what I would do ...
I bought a Canon 550D a year or so ago ...
If I had to replace it I would go for a Canon or Nikon full-frame camera, even if I had to sacrifice megapixels

Or the new 650D...or the (very much) rumoured 70D expected in Sep... :p :D

It it were me, with those two choices, I'd go for the 60D (body only) as a nice upgrade after shooting the 500D for some time. If it feels maybe too heavy, or none of the advantages mean anything to you practically (better AF, top lcd, better controls, faster etc) then 600D and blow the rest on quality lenses.

I am thinking that I should go with the 60D and maybe get a 17-85mm IS USM and a battery Grip

Or a 600D and start a fund towards the 17-55

Okay after playing a little with both cameras I got the 60D and I am really impressed with it, it feels a lot better in the hand then the 600D did, and I did get the 17-85mm It is quiet sharp so far but I will have to see down the line, thanks for the input guys

I also got my 60D last week after upgrading from the 450D. Love it so far!
