can a unsaved file be recovered

Hi GUys

I had a couple unsaved notepad files and windows updated and shutdown.

Can these unsaved files be recovered

Nope, sorry. Unless it didn't clear it's RAM or it's pagefile, you might have a tiny chance. But afaik windows does both of those on a cold boot.

Not a chance. It's stored in RAM which is volatile and until you save to your hard drive you have no permanent copy. Unless, as has been said, it got stored in the pagefile on the hard drive.

But nope, I'm afraid you're pretty much screwed.

If you`re using word 2007 you may have a slightly chance because they automatically save their documents once on 1-2 minutes. But as i said it's just a slightly chance.
