Can I connect this subwoofer

Well the amp does have equaliser settings, but all I could set manually seems to be bass and treble. I set the bass all the way down. They are running in stereo at the moment, as I have not connected the back ones yet, but I might do that soon.

The amp has an aut calibration thing which requires you to plug in a microphone(provided) and it calibrates the speakers. the Manual settings seems slightly lacking, unless I am being stupid and missing them somehow.

so 3,2 ohm is actually incompatible then, as the amp states I should use 6-16?

What I meant was that the sub was made for 3,2 ohm fronts not the 8ohm ones you are currently using so it is calibrated wrong for your setup and that is why it is louder than needs be(your amp is getting a 7.99 ohm load as I said earlier).

Its a bit odd if the amp does not have a custom equalizer mode maybe have a look at the booklet to make sure. If it does not google "potentiometer line level volume control" that should work if you wire a dual pot into the subs inputs.

ah okay, yes, sorry, misunderstood.

I will have a look at the booklet this afternoon. Thanks, I will give it a shot, but I think the sub is probably due for a replacement, so I guess I will get one sometime next year.

I don't want to get in an argument about speakers and subwoofers, but that's terrible advice. It means only rear/surround audio signals will be going to the subwoofer.

You're quite right, it depends though what mode the amp is switched to or capable of being switched to.

At which retailer would I be able to find these Wharfedale subwoofers that you guys mentioned, or something similar that is fairly cheap?

I have registered on AVforums so that I can search the classifieds, but it seems an admin must approve your registration first....and Since it is December, not sure how long that will take.

For the time being you should check out AVSA Classifieds
Just do a search for subwoofer and you'll see a Wharfedale MX10 for a great price.
