Can i do a sim swap myself?

Hi, is it possible for me to go to checkers (or similar shop), buy a sim card and do the sim swap myself or do i need to go to telkom mobile?
alternatively can checkers do the sim swap?

You have to go into a Telkom store. Make sure you take your ID with too.

Please help am trying to do a sim swap,no one @cell c is able to help me out.I have given them a thousand numbers apparently the system doesn't seem to pick the numbers which is so weird though.is there an alternative to this am loosing my mind have been using the number for more than 3years

Just goto telkom store with original ID and proof of residence. If sim was originally Ricad on your name should be painless process.
