or you can use
Code:
dd
to image your drive, mount it, and then make that accessible through virtualbox.

when you boot into this wubi install, what is the output of sudo fdisk -l

edit - scrap that. if you want to run a virtualbox, the programs typically save the OS as a file in its own independent file format. So yes the only way you could do what you want is to convert your existing windows partition into a format that your virtual program uses.

This of course means that what you subsequently do in the virtual install will not be in sync with your real windows install. although you may be able to setup that the virtual box actuall saves your working data into a space on the real windows install.

Hey guys....sorry to butt in.....I really want to play Sim City 2000 again. But I dont have a normal copy of Windows....only the HP recovery discs....I heard that VMware can use the recovery discs. Is this true? Is there anyway around this?

DOSBox

Sim City 2000 is a DOS game.

No need for windows. Original release was DOS only, a year later they released a DOS & Windows version.

http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/Dosbox.conf#Linux if you want to tweak default resolution & scaler etc

Screenshot of it running on my desktop here https://doc-00-3o-docs.googleuserco...4967565&hash=jn4ne3qj4grdtsb8olg3i3g2j6s96iio

Original game only had 640x480 resolution, I have it scaled to 1024x768 in dosbox

HP Win7 Upgrade disc works, don't know about a recovery disc working.

Cool...thanks ponder wonder. I will have a look when I get home tonight. I am not sure if it is such a good idea to start playing again. I can start a game and then I can sit for hours building my city....I have to set reminders to make sure I empty my bladder! lol hehehe.

Lol, I spent about 2hrs yesterday just generating my own custom terrain/map. Have not even started building my city yet.
