I have an HD PVR and a SD PVR (for three channels)
does that mean Drifta is free for me and i just need to buy the device?

No TV licence required.
Contact Multichoice
When prompted, say "MOBILE"
When answered, they will ask for your ID or account number and activate your mobile service.
As you are a premium subscriber, you will not pay a cent more.

If not attached via USB cable to PC or Notebook or AC power socket, then around 3 hours.

Probably - it's a standard USB connector to mini-USB (on the Drifta).

Get on of those Generic 5v Car Lighter to USB port adapters. like this one : HERE
