I had an old 1.8ghz celeron that I use as my [-]mp3[/-] print server.. Running ubuntu 8.4.1
This morning the cpu decided that it wanted to go to wherever dearly departed pc components go. I take out the mobo, remove ramchips.
Insert 2.4GHZ AMD board, plug in cables and reboot. That's it. No drivers to install, no configs even to change.
Last time I did that with Windows it BSoD'ed me through 7 timezones and would probably have swore at me if it had sound
