Weird thing that only happens on MyBB sometimes it just loops like it’s loading and then come back and there’s three copies of the same thing.

I drove off on numerous occasions in my Fiesta forgetting to turn the headlights on due to how bright the DRLs were and that the dash was always lit up. I was actually talking about this with my partner last night about how silly it is that the dashboard is always lit up in cars without auto lights.

Yeah it’s entirely daft and no wonder people don’t realise.

But then there are those idiots who do it on purpose because they think they are cool, much like the fog light brigade who will put their fogs on but their main lights off.

All the newer Volkswagens with analogue gauges do this - if your lights are off, there's no illumination on the instrument panel. Park lights on - only the needles are illuminated, not the numbers as well. Lights on, full illumination.

I quite like how some Audi's handle this. The dials are lit up during the day, but gradually become dimmer as the ambient light gets darker. So when it's nearly dark enough to warrant headlights, the gauges will be too dim to see, forcing people to turn their lights on.

A good idea in theory, at least. I just leave mine on Auto anyway and it sorts itself out

Your dash should dim when you switch on your headlights.

The fiesta I had was ages ago, 2013 / 2014 model I bought brand new. I actually went from a F30 320D Sport to a VW Up! I have since been travelling around Spain / Gibraltar / UK and the little Up! is still at home in JHB for in case I ever go back and need a car.

Agreed. It's illegal to drive with only park lights on anyway.

I love autolights. Lights go on when it's dark, in tunnels r garages, or when the wipers go on. Brights are all automatic too.

The problem is people turn on park lights and the dash indicates headlights are on and they think they are good to go.

I don't quite get the logic. If you need to see or be seen on the road, put your headlights on. Parklights used to be for parking on dark roads.
