i would recommend going to a telkom Store and filling out teh details 30 days notice but at least you will have somehing in pen and paper that you cancelled. As you know their billing dept is horrible.

it is theoretically impossible from what I have read here.

You can't. Move you and your family to another country and change your last name. There. Cancelled.

Cancel ADSL after FTTH is a better way to avoid a black hole. It's the way I will be approaching my cancellation.

You might be able to get a form to complete, but the store will not action it.
You have to either phone or fax in the cancellation (and then not have written proof of cancellation!), or e-mail the cancellation to them (and keep the mail trails - you'll need them!).

They will ignore whatever you do, and will keep on adding charges to your account. Keep on re-sending them your emails with the completed form w.r.t. cancellation attached.

Telkom will eventually send their collectors after you, do or don't give them hassles as you please, but then send them your cancellation e-mail trail and tell them to go away (in whatever phrase you prefer).

Telkom will then elect to ignore their collectors and send their lawyers after you. Send them the same cancellations emails and quote the NCA (read up on it) and tell them you are willing to see them in court, but legal precedent points towards them NOT winning the fight.

In my case they have been quite for a few months now....

send a blank email to servcancellation@telkom.co.za and in response you will get instructions

Honestly, fill out your cancellation form, then PM TelkomZA, otherwise your line will never be cancelled.

I'm in the same boat. Been trying to cancel a Telkom account since March 2017.

Emailed them the cancellation forms and called the helpdesk to no avail. 2 months later and I'm still being charged for an account I don't use. Reminds me of OpenWeb. Sigh.

Same issue. The cancellation "failed" requiring the backoffice to fix it but no one does. Used every avenue to contact telkom and they all shrug their shoulders. Have PM'd telkomza hopefully it helps.

Am I right when saying if you cancel your Telkom ADSL contract that you are liable to pay the entire contract in full before you can walk away?

guys i cancelled my telkom adsl this month (i kept the voice line) was pretty easy and telkom were on par believe it or not.

i emailed servcancellation@telkom.co.za and was told to fill out a form. i filled out the form and emailed them back and within 3 days telkom called me to confirm the cancellation etc

they even backdated the cancellation to the beginning of the month so that i didnt have to pay another month for the adsl.

How long have you been paying on this contract and what was the reason for cancellation if I may ask ?
