What is the procedure to cancel an cellc contract. My upgrade date is 01-may-2014. Which i take it is the 20th month of the contract.
I know i have to settle the remaining months of the contract. Does that include the insurance part of the contract too ?
I'm sick of battling with the dropped calls and bad internet. :banghead:

Why not change your number to prepaid. Let the network assign another number to the contract. Then do with your number as you wish.
At least you are then able to use the remaining monthly limits when in areas with reception.

I know MTN and VC allows number moving to prepaid, so can only assume CC will allow it.

They charge R500 to do this ( at least that's what the fourways store told me)

Hi, kahoel117, we are sorry to hear about your experience with Cell C service. The settlement amount is reflected on your statement. And like "Venomous" said, you have an option to convert your contract number to prepaid and be assigned a new number, then port. *DM*

Hi,

What is the procedure to follow to cancel a cell c contract? I am on a month to month contract and want to convert back to prepaid. Should I call the call centre or go to the store?

I just requested this a short while ago.

You have to email the customer service department requesting the conversion to prepaid and your contract details. They will then forward the email to the retention department who will call you.

If the contract has expired, you will be converted to prepaid on the last day of the next month.

If the contract did not expire yet, you will need to pay the outstanding amount for the phone as well as the remainder of the subscription, plus an early termination fee.

Hi , please can someone advise if they have experience in these.

1.My contract expires on the 16th of Jan , mid month. i have requested that it be cancelled and converted to prepaid, when does this conversion happen, month end or mid month and when will the last debit order be?.

2.This is how my cell nos is made up , its originally a vodacom nos ported to cell c prepaid , and then converted to a contract. Now that the contract expires, i wanna go back to vodacom prepaid, any ideas what do i need to do, will this be simple as when it converts to cell c prepaid i port back to vodacom prepaid ?

3. And final question, i have an iphone 5 which i received on the cell c contract, are these phones network locked ?, since once i go to prepaid i wanna go to vodacom so will the iphone work?

Many Thanks,

I did this recently. Conversion to pre-paid happened on the day the contract expired (so January 16 for you). Last debit order was at the end of that month (so January 31 for you).

Yeah, should be that straighforward.

In South Africa, devices are not normally network locked, so you shouldn't have a problem.
