I am so sorry Grant

How old was he if you don't mind me asking?
he died years ago - was 56
his moment of death still perplexes me after all these years.
in the hours leading up to his death, the dr was at the house.
initially he had my father on pethidine, then moved to morphine - so my father was barely conscious.
my mother was lying on the bed next to him.
my parents were never religious, churches / church attendance was for weddings and funerals.
his father, my grandfather, died before i was born, he died when my father was about 17 / 18 - gone so long that he was seldom even mentioned.
so my father is lying there, slumped into the pillows, then suddenly sits upright, glances around the room, then turns to my mother and says to her "i'm going to see my father now", in the most lucid manner imaginable.
and with that he slumps back down - dead !
so who was the father he referred to ?
was is some religious thing out of the blue, or was he referring to my grandfather who died over 50yrs prior ?
