**** Cancer

Tomorrow is my 8 year anniversary of being in remission for my breast cancer, and, yesterday I found out I have a basal cell carcinoma on the side of my nose..... it's not going to kill me, but, still..... WTF?
 
Dad had a lump removed, it had cancer in it, needs to go to an oncologist on Thursday to figure out where the cancer came from.
What peeves me off about my dad is he's been having issues peeing for 7 months, not bloody going to the doctor till the lump sigh. I guess another advantage of being married is my wife pushes me to go to the doc if things aren't 100%.
Though I did have my own scare a few years back when a mole that was removed had markers, but they apparently got it all when they did the second removal and no growth back.

Your dad sounds like me. We always think we will wake up tomorrow and the issue will be gone :X3:

I had lumps removed beginning of the year, tubes cut and some removed.

Lumps have come back so December again for surgery.

A friend of mine at work was also diagnosed with oesophageal cancer - but it's gone a lot further. They're giving him 6 months :(

Same happened with a person at work. He fought hard for around a year until he passed. It seems like it only gets caught when it's too late (They battle to swallow etc).

Correct, it's one of those that you won't notice until it gets into the final stages. Most of the time it's like a wet cough or a chronic throat clear or irritation, when they pick it up it often too late.

Also depends on the person, some people leave it thinking it's nothing - people go off to the GP, think it's a bit of flu or laryngitis.

Congrats on the anniversary. I have also had a BCC removed a few years back. Its not quiet cancer as my dermatologist explained but is the pre stage before serious skin cancer kicks in. I got for a checkup every 2 years to get things checked and any potential problematic marks removed.
