I don't get anything out of it at all. I just noticed quite a few people on MyADSL were looking for cameras and I figured this would be a good way for them to get a good deal.
I would buy one if I had the dosh

The Canon 400D is currently retailing for around R9000 and excludes the 4Gb Flash Card. This is definitely a bargain.
It's going to be diificult to justify why I need a 400D if I already have a 350D.

Not really - the 400D is a big step up imo.

There's always risk, in everything - hell, you drive in this country, don't you?!
But, that said, I've heard about these cameras from someone a friend I know IRL, not just some name on a screen, and all and I know him to be a decent oke who's passionate about photography - it's his email that I posted back there a bit. So, notwithstanding you look out for yourself in any kind of deal, I doubt there's anything hinky here ..just a thought, use it or not as you like. 
How about the new 40D?
Nah I've got the 400D at the moment so I'm looking for full-frame for my next camera.
wants one - sadly waaaay outta my price range
