Cannot connect to internet with belkin router

I have a belkin wireless router(F5D7230-4) and i cannot connect to the internet with it. I set the pppoe connection up in the settings. There is a MTU setting there. It was 1454 by default. Should i change this? It only allows numbers from 1440-1454. I set up a netgear wifi router the same way and it works perfectly.

The router says its an invalid MTU when i put 1492 in...

Got it to work.I updated the firmware but kept the MTU 1454 and it worked.
