Hi there,

New here at MyBB.co.za :P

Came to chat about ADSL and 3G, but ended up at the Photography section first.... figures ... :P

Anyway, started my hobby after buying my first REAL camera in 2005/6. Canon 350D. Also splashed out a bit on a nice 70 - 300mm lens. Perfect match.

Took over 20,000 photos over the years.

Then, April this year, went to a safari camp. Got some gr8 close-up shots of an elephant herd. Didn't even have to use the zoom lens, but I did and got some excellent shots of their eyes!

Anyway, went to another camp that evening for a session there, and left the camera, with the rest of our baggage in the Chalet.

Getting back to the camp we got met by this:

and then the next morning I salvaged this:

The zoom lens was still paired up with the camera! Nothing survived... ALL my camera equipment went up in smoke :(

Won't be able to afford buying a camera again... so you guys must enjoy the camera's!!! Will be drooling over all the pics you take and post here!!!

Yea, please resize!
What started the fire? Dont the places you stay at have some kind of insurance for this kinda thing?

Damn straight.. the camp should be reimbursing you for the lost equipment if you ask me.

Poor man only has one post, and no camera, and you wanna give him an infraction? Have a little sympathy for the man

Beeg, very beeg. Make smaller pleaze?

Bad news on the camera, but do check up on the insurance thing.

VERY VERY large images

This should be an infractionable offence.

Maybe phone the place where you were staying and just ask?

Why was it not insured?

My insurance for around R8000 worth of gear is only R18 a month.
