Canon EOS 500D

Erm this camera has been available for quite a while now and it only gets announced here now? Was officially announced in March...!
 
yea, I almost want to say the new Rebel series will be available shortly. I guess the 550D.

But with the recently announced 7D and 1D Mark IV I guess it will only be in Q1 2010.
 
Well Canon are gonna go 550,600,650,700,750,800,850,900,950 then what? (that's a lot of cameras though, model numbers could be abandoned altogether before then)

best cam for sports (D3 too)
there is no such thing as a best cam
a 4x5 view camera is the best cam for architecture & landscape you can use any of the smaller formats as well
MF (digital and transparencies) cams & D3x/5dII/1DsMKIII are best for portrait, studio... but I've seen Top Billing model shoot done on Canon 40D, so there!!!
1DmkIII/D3 are best for sports no reason you can't use a 7D/50D/D300s
5DII/D700 are best for events (of course you can use the above mentioned ones, or cheaper ones)
for walk-around lens, what beats a 18-200VR? - hook that up to a small crop cam and you have everything you need for a photo trip / vacation
maybe a 35mm cam with B&W film is best for certain types of photography - who knows?

C'mon ldmelsa, my comment was tong in cheek. Everyone knows the K1000 is the best camera ever made ;)
