Hi, My Printer just print the first 5cm on a page then spit it out.
Long time ago it did it, upgrade driver and was fine then.
So now does it again.
print front another computer on same printer with old driver [original on cd] and works well.

This computer have a tendency not to take memory sticks, read them but cannot move or copy.
Cameras, mouse, joystick and cellphone does well on usb.
Can I update a usb driver somewhere.
I have install the last 3 canon pixma ip4200 drivers.
Wonder if I must not try to install other printer driver.
Got usb front and back, all same story.
Please help as wife wants to prints lots of stuff.

uninstall usb devices. then restart computer.
it prints text but pics only 2cm.

will see what new proggies I install recently.

sp3 seems to be a problem child. To overcome service pack 3 MS came up with windows 7

so I install the printer driver, 3 different ones, when it ask to switch on printer, open device manager and sw printer on. usb sees printer.
Driver see printer and install.
Then restart computer.
open device mng and see a printing device.
Then print something. Canon tells me no printer please sw it on.
Sw it off and device manager sees that.
So still cannot print from this computer.

Sounds like your USB port(s) is buggered. Try all your other ports until you find one that works 100%.

Depending on how old the pc is, might be a problem with the USB system drivers themselves - check under Device manager to see if there are any problems there. My old Gigabyte mobo needed drivers in order for USB 2.0 support. Check your motheboard driver CD or Manufacturers website.

Do not find any bios chip on motherboard.
It is a ga 8vm800pmd775

their is a winbond chip w83627 , no sticker, soldered on pcb

did it allready.

So yesterday took it to computer shop. Tech start it, do anything on it. everything works
took the printer to him. he prints.

He did not charge me, because he did nothing.

When you go to the doctor you are ok.
When you get to the mechanic, that problem hides.

and then comes back to bite you!! :D

I was following your ordeal and puzzled. Also thought it was USB drivers...

Hope it stays "fixed?" !!

Moggie, so the wife wants to print, and oops.
Same story.
Phone dealer. He said to remove all attachments, only ps keyboard and screen.
Then try. no luck. even try different keyboard.

So now, do print on laptop.
Are going to look for usb drivers, otherwise reinstall uncle Bill.

Just wondering whether you have some king of mains ground loop problem.

Try plugging all devices into a different extension strip. Also if you have 2 pin power plugs, rotate one of them by 180 so that the pins are reversed.

everything works from one plug.
Thank you.

Currently uploading self install updates from gigabyte.
Only works in IE.
Will give it a try then.

is it set to print immediately or only when last page is spooled? are you using the manfucurers driver, not the auto-detected/internet one?

computer shop use only ps2 mouse and keyboard.

Anyway, so I upgrade bios.
Then enable usb mouse and keyboard support.

Then it print normal.
Will test 2morrow again.
