Hi

Is anyone else having trouble accessing some websites using TelkomInternet? There have been many in the last few days that just go nowhere, a tracert doesn't get to the destination either. Some examples are funnyplace.org, http://news.bbc.co.uk

When I mail their support center at [email protected], I don't even get a bloody reply.

Googlemaps is soo poor that many of the sections don't load and when they do the images are fuzzy as if half loaded.

This is very frustrating as I am on a 4MB unshapped and uncapped ADSL line.

I don't get it, a new 1.2TB cable has landed, Telkom has upgraded their cables and yet the internet experience seems to be worse now.

If anyone else is having these problems, please let me know

Cheers

Blaming your browsing experience on SEACOM or SAT3 is premature, in fact, kind of stupid. It is highly unlikely that undersea cables are to blame.

The problem is more likely to be somewhere between your mouse and your ISP.

Who is your ISP? And what make of mouse do you have? And what do you have before your mouse? That is most likely the main problem.

You are not alone.

I have a dedicated server in the USA and I host websites for several small businesses, friends and fellow photographers. In the past few days I have had some hysterical conversations with a few of my clients where they complain that they cannot see their websites when they are browsing on SAIX ADSL lines. I am on IS and I have no problem seeing the sites.

They get their mail, no problem and visits to Alertra.com and browsershots.org show that the sites are operating perfectly. It's only Telkom SAIX customers that can't see the server.

Tests from www.lagado.com/proxy-test have revealed that in all instances the clients are behind a transparent proxy which is unable to resolve to my server.

This is a massive problem for me because my clients are now wanting to leave and its going to cost me money. Complaints directed at SAIX and Telkom fall on deaf ears. They don't care.

In all instances all I am able to advise my clients is that they must log a complaint with their ISP's. If they are not using Telkom as an ISP then hopefully their ISP will be able to act on their behalf.

Im in Manila and having major internet problems :( Im so pissed off about now.

I'm on TelkomSA, just checked, cannot access the BBC site, but can get funnyplace.org.

Will check again at work just now, on IS there.
