Can't get any help from Telkom

Hi does anyone know if there is a problem with Telkom in Empangeni ?

My phone went dead 4 days ago and my internet connection dropped 2 days after that, I can't seem to find a technician at all. I'v tried to phone but every time I get through they put the call down on the other side.

I'v been to the Telkom Direct Store in Richards Bay and had them call in for me but they kept getting their calls dropped aswell. I was given a piece of paper with "10210" on it and was told to call the number, The only thing I can think of now is to waste airtime and call telkom with my cellphone.
 
Good luck, took me 3 months :( and it's been another 2 and it's crap :(

Had to get my fri ends dad GM at MWEB to fix our line
 

Thanks but I'v already tried that, when I give my number it says "Unfortunately your request could not be completed. An email was sent to a call centre agent to either capture the fault on your behalf or to contact you with more information."

I have no hope of them getting back to me or logging the fault because several other people I know have had the same problem just longer but with no reply from telkom.
 
I assume you're still trying report the fault in which case use the SMS reporting service.

SMS your faulty Telkom line number eg: 0115551234 (number only, nothing else) to 0123210212 and follow the instructions on the reply.
 
I wasted some R400 in cellphone bills this past week listening to that Telkom 10210 IVR. I say go to the Telkom Direct Store and use their line. I logged my fault via SMS, but still wound up spending hundreds just trying to figure out status.

Too many times the thing just goes "beep" and hangs up. That happens when I select option 1 (Report a fault) and option 2 (fault progress). Select option 3 (ADSL technical problems) and tell them to check on the line. It might say ADSL, but they can at least log a fault.

When you see a Telkom van in your area, just stop and chat to them and ask them to check. If you got a ref number it helps. What happens at the call centre and in the real world is very different.
 
Got a 3g modem to use for a few hours, I'll try call telkom tomorrow if that fails I'll just go look for a Telkom van in town.

Got it done already, I used one of the telkom payphones in town to get through to 10210. Had a real nice technician fix it in a few minutes. :)
