Hi All,

I've got a bunch of PC's (All Windows 7) on a VPN in CPT and JHB which all have mapped network drives to a storage server (Windows 7 machine) in CPT.

I have one particular machine which will just not map the network drive... It has always worked fine and last night started giving issues. This morning when i tried to re-map the drive it accepts the path that i put in and then asks me to input the username and password as i connect using different credentials. Even after i put the correct credentials in, the window disappears and then re-appears asking me for the username and password again even though i know for a fact that the details are correct!

My other PC's, including my own can still connect to the shared drive with no problems what so ever. Any ideas what could be causing this and how to fix it?

Probably not the issue but how are you typing in the credentials?

pcname\username
password
Had issues like this before, had to specify the pc name (in your case the win7 pc's name that you are connecting to) before the username, then only it started to work again...

Sometimes when you just type the username the domain/workgroup name is not the correct one, or uses the current pc name as the workgroup name and your pc might not have the user account on, so you need to specify the remore pc name, that's where the account is setup on... or something like that :)

That sometime happen when the account is locked or disabled
i am assuming this is on Active directory

Also try deleting any stored credentials for that mapped drive in the Credential Manager

Have yu restarted or logged out and log back in then try again

on the network icon, right click, say map network drive, there u can reset it/change it

dont know if it will work
but here where i work somtimes pastel wont pick up the network, and i have to reset it like above

Edit:just read your post again, and saw that u did that :P
