How do I link to another thread?!

We need to post our tests/hacks for cheap wi-fi AP's using Can's, Usb adapters, and USB Extension cables.

We need to find a replacement for the AP-in-a-weatherproof-box-via-PoE-on-the-roof to Usb-can-out-the-window-on-the-wall.

Then we can connect everyone.

Savings?

R3000-R1000. Well worth the effort! And I suspect it can be done.

You may want to take a look at http://www.jawug.za.net/GN-WKBG, I added some images of the Gigabyte USB WKBG wifi adapter a while back. What makes these quite nifty is they output 100mW AND have a mini connector for an external antenna on the board.

I havent actually tried modding any of them yet, but so far these usb things perform beter than the Gigabyte A16B AP I have, both in range and speed.
