Why is it like pouring energy and money into Zimbabwe?.

We've made GREAT progress as a country. Yes there are issue that need attention and need to be fixed, but unlike your negative view point I think the future for this country is positive.

I at least am realistic, and not pouring my energy and money onto something that won't happen.

Really? Jacob Zuma has just become president :o. It's been pathetic IMO. Millions dead from crime and aids denial, billions wasted on fancy weapons we don't need, millions still in poverty, failing infrastructure, bankrupt municipalities, palling up to thugs and tyrants the world over.....I could be here all day :sick:

As I said there are problems... but we HAVE made great progress as much as you'd like to deny it..

But Is the Cape really still part of SA? The politics speaks for itself and many people of the Cape already see themselves as seperate, some to more of a degree than others ofcourse but either way its there.Who cares to how you refer to it and whats legally untrue? WE WANT OUT!

Yes the Western Cape is still part of SA. YOU want out.. not WE want out.. you need to get that idea right in your head.

Atm MAYBE 0.5 percent of the electorate would vote for independence is my guess... so you're still 49.6% short of actually getting that goal.


Oh, and if you're going to do the whole historic Cape Colony thing, which I'm sure is going to come along soon in this debate, you can take the Eastern Cape, The NorthWest and the Northern Cape with you because they were part of the Cape Colony.

Weve shown that for the first time in history its possible to raise a wild baboon from birth, train it to speak, educate it (4 + 4 = 8) and then have it elected president.
 
Great Progress?

We have an economy that has managed to escape the worst of the economic problems the 1st world countries are experiencing. We have financial laws that are the envy of alot of 1st world countries. We're building things faster, better and cheaper than the 1st World countries can. The list goes on and on actually.

By WE I meant CP supporters. What are you smoking? Its gotten cosiderable support given the funding and that mostly pockets of people around Capetown knew of it as thats where the major campaigning was done. Wait till the next election and we'll see.

What is your definition of considerable support...

Optimisticallyit needs, (given 65% of the population can vote), 50.1% of 1.47m people to actively support the idea and be prepared to go through the hardships that would follow should they vote for it in a referendum... which would ultimately mean 2 votes would be needed, since the whole province would need to vote on whether to have the referendum first.. and then to vote on the referendum itself.

Of course thats not including the populations of the other 3 Cape provinces which are part of the Cape Colony which is the historic "country" of the Cape.
 
On what grounds?..

You've vaguely mentioned the "historic" aspect.. which unfortunately for you includes the Eastern Cape, the North West and the Northern Cape because they were all part of the Cape Colony from 1652 - 1910.

and yet millions are still living in sewage. This economic progress is clearly not done much for them. Why do you think they voted for Zuma.

Go to somebody who lives in shack with no toilet, no legal electricity, no internet or even phone, no antiretrovirals for aids she caught after being raped yet again, her husband murdered, no decent education for her kids and tell her things are GREAT because we have financial laws that are the envy of the 1st world....

You have a trained baboon for president in the WC,
didn't know you had a president there, up here we call them premiers.
as stated earlier the stuff you take is strong indeed!
